Yes, yes, I know. I didn't post a thing in the whole month of May. Somehow that seemed like a really fast month.
I'm sitting here at work for my good ol' 12 hour Saturday shift at the hospital. And my camera sits at home all alone with such cute pictures inside of it. So here's a verbal update on our lives:
1. Abby finished preschool a few weeks ago. She just can't seem to understand why she can't go during the summer and see all of her friends. I've tried explaining it a million ways. It still remains a mystery to her. So far, we're enjoying the summer with some playdates, and a few classes of tap/ballet/gymnastics at the Little Gym in Milford. We were supposed to go strawberry picking on Thursday, but it poured all day long. So we compromised and made a strawberry pie instead. She loved it.
2. My dear Ben has turned into a gorilla. Seriously. Changing his diaper (every time!) is my best version of what wrestling a gorilla would be like. How is it that a little boy can make his mama break into a sweat just getting a stinky diaper off and the new one on?!? The kid has some serious upper body strength. He likes to do a sudden flip of the upper body, and he can twist it in such a way that you are nearly powerless to stop him. If you could only be a fly on the wall in his nursery...I'm sure you would be laughing to no end. We've tried using the elbow to pin him down (gently)....we've tried doing it on the floor with a leg draped over him....we've tried the distraction method (here-chew on your tube of butt paste)....the kid is a gorilla. And it's not just me. Jason was getting him ready for church last weekend and after hearing the chaos that goes along with that, my husband appeared all in a huff in our bathroom where I was getting ready. "Just so you know," he says. "We're all done having kids! I'm getting too old for this stuff!" We'll see about that...
3. We are trying to sell our house in Tulsa. We saved every penny we had after we were married and bought our little 3 bedroom/1 bath home in Tulsa on 24th Place. Lots of good memories there. After living there 2 years and renting it out for 5 years, we've decided to sell it. Jason is coming home tonight from being in Tulsa for the last 3 days doing the final walk-through and little things here and there. So if you know of anyone looking for a cute 1st home, send them our way.
4. Next weekend, we are headed out for our first ever Chiodo family camping trip. We are going with 6 other young families to Odetah campgrounds in Bozrah, CT. We're gonna pitch a tent, blow up my comfy queen size aerobed and have us an adventure! We're excited to see how our first try at this goes with two little ones. We're hoping to make this a family tradition. My only requirement is that I'm not sleeping on the ground. Period. End of discussion. I'll do the mosquito thing, the fire/smores thing, the baseball cap to hide the bad hair thing-all with a smile on my face. But I camped many a time growing up with the sleeping bag on the hard soil. And now that I'm a grown adult..I can make my own decision on things like this, right?!? Right.
Okay..pictures to come. Stay tuned.
